Hippity Hoppity Easter is on It's Way!

Easter happens to be one of our client and dear friend's favorite Holidays. I decided to surprise her with some homemade treats for her Easter company. Cake Pops! These are so fun to make and sure to put a smile on anyone's face!

Bakerella is the queen of cake pops. Get her book on how to make every cake pop under the sun here.
This is all you will need:
1 box of cake                      orange mini chocolate chips     black food coloring gel
1 tub of frosting                   orange flower sprinkles            lolly pop sticks
yellow melting chocolate      yellow mini m&ms

Bake your cake as directed on box and let it cool. Once it is cool get a large mixing bowl and crumble the whole thing up into tiny crumbs. Add 3/4 a tub of frosting and mix until frosting is incorporated.

Roll into 1.5"-2" balls and put in the fridge to set overnight.

Melt chocolate into a deep tupperware container so it is easy to submerge the cake balls into the chocolate.

Dip the lolly pop stick 1/2" into the chocolate and insert into the cake ball.

Submerge the entire cake ball into the chocolate and remove.
Next take the stick and gently tab it against your hand to remove the excess chocolate.

Next add the wings (yellow mini m&ms) and beak (orange mini choc. chip) and feet (orange flower sprinkles)

Next, stick your chicks in a Styrofoam block to cool.

You are almost finished. Take a toothpick and dab it into your black gel food coloring and add the little eyes.
And...... There you have it, the cutest, yummiest little chickys you ever did see!

I like to display mine in a square glass jar filled with white sugar!

Happy Crafting!
XOXO,
Jo
